Never Alone

Published On: November 7, 2002  14:29, filed in Verse
I stay awake for fear of sleep
My heart it aches with longing
I sit apart and try to keep
My soul from sadly weeping

No never alone He cried
I will stay beside thee
No never alone He cried
I will always hold thee

The emptiness overwhelms me
I know not how with this to cope
Trapped alone with none to guide me
To a bright house of peace and hope

No never alone He cried
I will stay beside thee
No never alone He cried
I will always hold thee

Stood He in front with sweet embrace
Arms outstretched with His love for me
Then time ceased and filled me with grace
I rest in Him contentedly
