Her: Everything is still this morning. The cloudy, after-rain sky holds in the moisture & silence like a giant greenhouse :)
Me: mmm… that almost sounds like a haiku. :)
Me: the cloudy, after rain sky // holds moisture and silence // in the still morning
Her: Lol :) didn’t really think abt that :) I love the spicy smell of wooded areas after rain, esp. as the sun comes out & turns the heat on :)
Me: yeah. :) its been raining a lot here the last few days. the combination of the smell of rain and the smell of the grill last night brought up a bunch of vague memories of camping when i was young.
Her: :) nice :) or this: cloudy, after-rain sky // stillness, moisture, silence // city-wide greenhouse
Her: Funny how a smell takes you back faster sometimes than sight or sound :) prob bcs we do more seeing & listening than smelling :)
Me: or … like a greenhouse // the cloudy, after-rain sky // holds stillness, moisture, silence
Her: :) that’s good, too :)
Her: Hm. I almost prefer my haiku simile-less. Maybe for the same reason I enjoy semi-colons: implied connections :)
Me: interesting…
Her: So, i’d prob move your first line to the end & make it just one word.
Me: like: the cloudy, after-rain sky // holds stillness, moisture, silence // a giant greenhouse
Her: Yeah, more like that :) RE: like: the cloudy, after-rain sky // holds stillness, moisture, silence // a giant greenhouse

Greet the Day
a cool morning light
floats through an open window
as you greet the day
An Italian Vibe
An italian vibe
Floats on the air at gittos
with wine and pasta
Tranquility
Soft with dew and damp
Myst floats placid on the lake
Shrouding aging trees
Glow
Glowing stripes of red
amidst the dark foreboding
shadow of the night
Verduous Stalks
Digital verdant
stalks of bamboo rise out of
rich dark earthen soil
Summer Night
Among the green grass
A summer night sings sweetly
With sounds of crickets
Sounds of the Fair
Thousands of people
Swaying and dancing at night
The sounds of the fair
Fireworks
Brightness in the night
Reflection of light from fire
Bursting in the sky
The Boss
Great speed in the turn
Whipped left then right, up then down
The Boss is the bomb
The Batman
Hanging from mid air
Right side up then upside down
Fast goes the Batman
Mister Freeze
Zero to seventy
Pure vertical then backwards
Fridged Mister Freeze
Delicate Flower
Birdsong from oak tree
Rich earth by the garden path
Delicate flower
Evidence of Spring
Sunlight on flower
Bowed by the gentle breeze
Evidence of Spring
Earthquake
Ground shakes beneath me
Forces striving together
I awake from sleep
Morning Alarm
The bright morning sun
Shines from an open window
An alarm goes off
