Spring has gone... or will soon be gone. She isn't a season, but a person, and a lovely one at that. <smile> For her I wrote a poem. enjoy,
The Presence of Spring
Tis difficult to refrain
From jubilant laughter
While in her joyous presence
Giggles follow after
In an unending parade

Last night, myself a couple of friends went out to eat and afterwards went to dairy queen for some icecream. While there, the girl behind the counter was really frazzeled, and we kinda gave her some trouble. I just wanted the world to know, and the girl if she ever reads this, that she was awesome and did a great job. thanks.

Dancing Melodies

Two melodies drifting on quiet airs
Gentle meanderings of kindred sound
At once quick and soft with dulcet beauty
The wanderings of things lost and things found
I sit quietly beneath the dancing notes
And wonder of many strange things above
How came I to this place of holiness
Surrounded by reminders of His love
Gentle meanderings of kindred sound
At once quick and soft with dulcet beauty
The wanderings of things lost and things found
I sit quietly beneath the dancing notes
And wonder of many strange things above
How came I to this place of holiness

It is the first day of a new week. Last week wore me down, tired me out, and left me feeling drained and a little depressed. I stand amazed in the presence of God. Even though the last two months have been a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, He has maintained a consistent presence, and for that I am grateful. I am grateful for good friends and wise counsel.
The highlight of this day is of course the birth of my newest niece, Anna Elisabeth Wall, 5 pounds 7 ounces, and in good health. Happy Birthday Anna, I look foreward to getting to know you. I will be posting pictures as soon as they are developed.

I just want to say thanks to the two guys at AutoZone who were so much help this evening. You see, I've been having car problems... <grin> That isn't all that odd. It was this hum you see, that only occurred at high rpm's. Then this morning, my batery light came on. So on the way home from work I stopped at the AutoZone to get my battery and alternator tested. The battery tested fine, and their portable testor wasn't working, so the guy suggested checking it with an ohm meter. This I did, and it didn't look like the alternator was producing any power. So I pulled off the alternator there, and they tested it. Apparently the bearings were going bad, and it was definitely not working, so I was provided a new one, free of charge, as it was under warranty there. The new one worked fabulously, but here is the really cool part. Remember that humming I told you about? Well apparently, that was the alternator. Two problems solved in one night and it cost me nothing. The two guys at AutoZone were a great help, and I just wanted to say thanks.

I ache for thee my friends, for I see pain, lost paths, and lost hope. I want so desperately to help, to somehow alieviate the burden, to see thee walk again, free. Yet I languish, for I am frail and am not able. I am weak. In that dark moment I cry out to Him. Save Your people, Your children. Those I love suffer... I suffer... Breathe fresh life in our cold hearts, stir up the fire in our souls. Heal us of our wounds, wounds so deep. I know love, and that is to feel the joy and pain of our love.

Sometimes words just fail. It is a strange circumstance, to find yourself drifting between moments, looking back and looking forward, knowing those things you need to do, knowing how easy it is to forget. Moments like these can feel timeless, while vast portions of life seem as though they were not lived, not in a real way, more like being caught in a current, pushed by unseen forces.
The world is so vast, though we rarely see it, our vision tunneling to the next thing we have to do. So easy to forget, so hard to be content.
He should be enough. Any good at all is more than we deserve. Yet we yearn for more, and perhaps the yearning persists because we do not yet have all that we need of Him. So often mistaken for something else, we desire.
Lies, so many pervade the very air around us. Like a toxic pollution, robbing our soul of the truths it needs to breathe, to live. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Thus we die, slowly, starving for air, and afraid. How can we trust the truth? We have been betrayed so many times by lies masquerading as solutions to our problems. Truly, we are lost. We are trapped. Is there yet hope? Have all been deceived? is there yet one who has not died? If such an one live, we would not cry in vain. A web of lies needs only a truth to be undone. With such a truth there is life, and with life a way to bridge the moments, to experience lasting joy, to have contentedness.

Kiss the moon gnight for me
And tell the stars farewell
I go to nether faerie lands
Beneath a gossamer veil
Kiss the moon gnight for me
And let the lilies linger
Lightly on the waters edge
Touched by a silver sliver
Kiss the moon gnight for me
And feel the winds embrace
Sun has set oer yonder lee
And God gives you his grace
Kiss the moon gnight for me
And tell the morning fair
That all the world is beautiful
And life's without a care
And tell the stars farewell
I go to nether faerie lands
Beneath a gossamer veil

Various notes and thoughts from the services today...
Acts 1:8
God is not concerned with telling us about when the Kingdom will be established, God is concerned with us being about the business of receiving the power to accomplish His will that has been revealed to us. That will is revealed to us in the form of commandments, like the great commission, to be witnesses of Him. A witness, is not just a record, but it implies sacrifice, like a martyr who gives his life to show forth the efficacy of Christ.
The secret things are the Lords. It is not given unto us to know the times and the seasons, but we are given power, a power that is not manifested in how you feel, but in what you do and how you live your life. A power manifested in the revealed things. Those are the things that we are to be about doing.
Luke 2:35-40
The eminency of the Lord's coming.
Three things Satan does in regards to the second coming. He denies it, delays it, corrupts it. The worst is to delay it, not in reality, but in our minds. He lies to us, making us think that the coming will not come, thus tempting us to be lazy and irresponsible with our stewardship.
Faithfulness in faith in obedience produces great and mighty things that we could not imagine. God expects us to be faithful.
Do nothing you would not want to be caught doing when Jesus comes, say nothing you would not want to say, go nowhere you would not want to be when Jesus comes.

This person who writes in regards to Mel Gibsons desire to make a movie about Christ irritates me. Mel Gibson, a devout Catholic, is one of my favorite actors, and I hope that he will portray Christ in a manner befitting a Man who was God on earth. I'm rather curious to see the result, and Gibson's reputation in my mind in on the line.
But back to my original point, which is Dr. Ravitch's complaint that Christians have no foundation for thier beliefs historically, that there is no first hand historical basis for Jesus, and that we are, at least from what I can gather from his article, a bunch of foolish and obviously blind following...
Well... I suppose that the Apostles don't count as first hand biographical accounts... or do they? I mean, they walked and talked with Him, for like three or so years didn't they? And how bout the hundreds of people that saw Christ after His ressurection and were there to verify the accounts?
No basis for a historical Jesus... <shakes head in wonder and sad disbelief> We, the Church, have as much basis for a historical and thological Christ as anyone does of anything or any person who has ever lived.
Dr. Ravitch has so graciously posted his email address on the website, just in case anyone wanted to comment on his article. Here it is, just in case you were as insulted as I was. (ravitchn@bellsouth.net)

In response to thanks for questions answered...
In humble thanks
I welcome thee
Oh sprite who haunts
The depths of me
When time warrants
Questions cunning
Feel free to ask
They’ll be forth coming
In Poetry Spoken,
In humble thanks
I welcome thee
Oh sprite who haunts
The depths of me
When time warrants
Questions cunning
Feel free to ask
They’ll be forth coming

An Evening Lark
outside my glistning window
while the evening darkens
i seek a peaceful slumber
and my glad soul hearkens
to the sounds of an evening lark

The Weekend
Say hello to this weeks end
A time to rest and breathe
When all the world heaves a sigh
And puts it self at ease
The night lights up in color
Bright in social flair
People go and celebrate
Out in the open air
Tis weeks end and time
To rest in comely solace
That best enables thee
To face tomorrows morass

The Rising Sun

See the rising sun today
peaking oer yon horizon
I ran towards it eagerly
to say hello and greet him
All around me myst did lie
Above the trees did hover
Hiding many treasured things
Beneath the soft gray cover
Then the sun did greet the myst
Bright in his crimson fashion
And the myst did run away
Before his glorious shining
Farewell said I to the myst
I'll see thee on the morrow
For I greet the morning sun
Who takes away my sorrow
peaking oer yon horizon
I ran towards it eagerly
to say hello and greet him
All around me myst did lie
Above the trees did hover
Hiding many treasured things
Beneath the soft gray cover
Then the sun did greet the myst
Bright in his crimson fashion
And the myst did run away

Notes on the messages given today in church...
The coming of Jesus Christ could be today. We have so little time, and so many people need to be reached, yet we sit idle.
Is it God's mandate for the local church to go out and evangelize the world? If it is, then we need to go after it with our whole heart.
Note that what you sow you reap, that you reap more than you sow, that you reap in proportion to what you sow, and that you reap after you sow.
There are all kinds of soil, and they plant different varieties of seed in the different kinds of soil to produce the best yields.
