This is a black and white version of this photo. I’m torn between which version I like best.
I have been writing on the web since 2000. I am a christian , a photographer, an occasional poet, a recovering dreamer, an occasional philosopher, a software developer, an autodidact, and i resemble the INFP personality type.
I kind of like the color one. You can see all the colorful clothing of everyone around. I love the bright colors they wear.
I love the classic black and white, because I’m a classy girl:) but sometimes color is nice. But it’s all about the trusted photographer’s judgment.
Bethany! I appreciate your perspective. You’re right, black and white is classic. It also has more emotional impact because it doesn’t have colors trying to manipulate your emotional reaction. Poverty is conveying well in black and white, partially I think because the absence of color mirrors the absence of comfort. It seems stark and somewhat forbidding.
